On the heels of the 2021 MLB Draft, Indiana gets four big commitments

July has already been a wild ride for those watching the Indiana University Baseball off season. The 23rd ranked 2021 incoming class saw two commits drafted (1st and 5th rounds). The entire 2021 Indiana starting pitching rotation and closer were drafted in on the second day. The team’s top two hitters were drafted on the final day.
While that is a lot of talent that won’t be playing at the Bart in 2021-22, there was some great news shared soon after the draft in four commitments for the NCAA Division I Transfer Portal.
The NCAA D1 transfer rules were changed recently to allow an almost automatic one-time waiver for athletes in sports that used to require a one year red-shirt year at the new school after transferring. Baseball was one of those sports. Most transfers are now eligible to play at their new schools immediately.
