In the final tune-up before conference season begins, The Hoosiers were in a pitcher’s duel into the 7th inning when things got wild. Three hit-by-pitches, two walks, an error and six hits plated 11 Hoosiers in the frame after the stretch. Indiana staffed it on the mound with 11 Hoosier pitchers who mostly worked out of scattered trouble that included 8 walks and two hit-by-pitches, but only amounted to 5 runs.
Brock Tibbitts and Carter Mathison paced the Hoosier bats with three hits each. All of Mathison’s went for extra bases including a 430 foot home run. The media caught up with head coach Jeff Mercer and Mathison after the game.
