Top 9th: Indiana 2, Texas 4 (FINAL)

Evan Goforth grounds out to second. Glasser strikes out looking. Jessee works the count full and flies out to end the game. Indiana falls to 2-3 on the year and will now need to win Saturday to force a rubber match.

Bottom 8th: Indiana 2, Texas 4

Kennedy hits a double over Whalen’s head to get the tying run in scoring position with no outs. A walk brings puts the go ahead run on first. Then a three-run bomb gives Texas a 2-run lead. Another hit and Levy’s night is done. Freshman Brayden Risedorph is the new pitcher. Risedorph gets a couple of quick outs to end the inning.

Top 8th: Indiana 2, Texas 1

Mathison fouls out in front of the Hoosier bullpen. Tibbitts grounds out. Ellis gets a two-out walk. Colopy flies out to left field to end the inning.

Bottom 7th: Indiana 2, Texas 1

Gabe Levy is the new Hoosier pitcher. Levy gets a strikeout to start the inning and gets a groundball out to second. Third batter gets to a full count and Whalen collects a flyout to complete the 1-2-3 inning.

Top 7th: Indiana 2, Texas 1

Morgan Colopy gets fooled by a couple of breaking balls to go down 0-2, but watches four more for a lead-off walk. Goforth bunts a 1-1 pitch foul, then grounds into the Hoosier’s second unlucky double play off the pitching mound on the night. Glasser hits a single up the middle. Jessee pulls a single to right to get runners on the corners. Josh Pyne… gets a 2-out RBI (sound familar?) with an infield single to plate Glasser and give the Hoosiers back the lead. Longhorn pitching change, going with a lefty against the righty Whalen who grounds out to third base.

Bottom 6th: Indiana 1, Texas 1

Adrian Vega is the new Hoosier pitcher. Vega walks the lead off man. A single to right puts runners on the corners with no outs. Jessee tracks down a fly ball that scores the tying run. A stolen base puts another Longhorn in scoring position with one out. A flyout to right advances the runner to third with two outs. Vega is in a critical spot here, trying to keep the game tied. A third hard hit flyout ends the inning.

Top 6th: Indiana 1, Texas 0

Pyne hits a double down the line to lead off the inning. Whalen gets jammed for a shallow fly out. Mathison grounds out to the right side which gets Pyne to third with two outs for Brock Tibbitts. Tibbitts stays alive with multiple foul balls and works a full count walk. That at bat has Gordon at 104 pitches and his day is done. Matthew Ellis in the batter with two outs and runners on the corners. Inning ends on a groundout.

Bottom 5th: Indiana 1, Texas 0

A lead-off single is wiped out immediately by the Hoosier defense when the runner tried to stretch it to a double. Hoosier defense has been excellent today. Seiler’s second walk of the day does give Texas their base runner. Seiler makes a catch for out number two. Seiler ends the inning with a full count strikeout.

Top 5th: Indiana 1, Texas 0

Gordon’s strikeouts so far have him had 76 pitches. Ellis beats the shift and legs out an infield single. Ellis advances to second when Colopy is hit by a pitch. Evan Goforth sacrifice bunt puts two in scoring position with one out for the top of the Hoosier order. Glasser hits a sacrifice fly and Ellis scores on a close play at home. Jessee flies out to center to end in the inning.

Bottom 4th: Indiana 0, Texas 0

Seiler again is beat to first on a right side infield hit. Seiler picks off the runner for out number one. Foul ball pop up for out number two. Seiler throws a 4-pitch walk then Goforth robs a hit to end the inning. Seiler at 46 pitches.

Top 4th: Indiana 0, Texas 0

Bobby Whalen gets Indiana’s first hit to the outfield. Mathison chases a pitch and pops up in the infield. An unlucky hard hit ground ball bounces off of the mound to the second baseman who tags Whalen and throws to first for an inning ending double play.

Bottom 3rd: Indiana 0, Texas 0

A lead off single and a sacrifice bunt gets a runner in scoring position. Whalen catches a shallow fly ball for out number two. Ben Seiler’s 34th pitch is a ground ball played well by Glasser at short.

Top 3rd: Indiana 0, Texas 0

Gordon gets the first out via the K. That is two-thirds of the Hoosier order going down on strikes. Glasser legs out an infield single. Jessee flies out to left. Glasser gets a good jump to take second. Pyne strikes out to end the inning. Gordon has 7 strikeouts through three innings.

Bottom 2nd: Indiana 0, Texas 0

Josh Pyne fields a liner for the first out. Seiler fields a grounder for out number two. Pyne fields a grounder to complete the 1-2-3 inning.

Top 2nd: Indiana 0, Texas 0

Bobby Whalen is the fourth straight strikeout victim. Carter Mathison has a long flyout. Brock Tibitts gets ahead in the count 3-0 and gets on via the walk. Gordon gets behind again 3-0 to Ellis who also walks to get Tibitts into scoring position. Morgan Colopy gets down 1-2 and strikes out to end the inning.

Bottom 1st: Indiana 0, Texas 0

Seiler unable to cover first in time on a lead off bunt hit by Eric Kennedy. Kennedy advances on a wild pitch and then to third on a sacrifice bunt. Seiler gets a key 1-out strikeout then ends the inning with no damage on a ground out.

Top 1st: Indiana 0, Texas 0

Phillip Glasser leads of for Indiana against the Texas lefty Lucas Gordon, who was on the weekend rotation fro the CWS team last year. Glasser strikes out. Hunter Jesse keeps fouling off pitches working a full count but then goes down on strikes. Josh Pyne also stays alive via the foul ball before falling to a strikeout.

Starting Lineup
