Indiana goes for the series sweep vs. the Eagles

Bottom 9th: Eagles 4, Hoosiers 5 (FINAL)

Colopy drives a fly ball to right which is reeled in by the right fielder. Matthew Ellis grounds out to third base. Tyler Cerny gets on with a 2-out single. Cerny advances to second on a wild pitch and Bobby Whalen drives in Cerny for the walk-off win.

Top 9th: Eagles 4, Hoosiers 4

Brock Tibbitts takes a throw to the face at first base. He is being tended to. Tibbitts is standing up and is walking off with a towel on his face. Evan Goforth comes in at second and Cerny moves over to first base. Another single puts the tying run on base with no outs. A sacrifice bunt puts the tying run in scoring position. A pinch hit double over Morgan Colopy’s head in right ties the game and puts the go ahead run in scoring position. Manase strikes the next batter out. A fly ball falls just foul of the third base line and Manase ends the inning with a strikeout.

Bottom 8th: Eagles 2, Hoosiers 4

Riley Langerman flies out foul. Phillip Glasser, on what might be his last chance, hits a solid single and has reached base every game this season. Pyne walks and Taylor strikes out looking and Whalen is called out on a check swing appeal.

Top 8th: Eagles 2, Hoosiers 4

Kraft starts the inning with a strikeout. He walks the second batter. Seti Manase is already warming in the bullpen as Dustin Glant comes out to talk to Kraft. Kraft induces a groundball fielder’s choice to keep the runner out of scoring position. Jackson Feltner fights off several pitches and works a full count walk. Kraft’s day is done. Seti Manase is new the Indiana pitcher. One pitch – one out – fly ball to left.

Bottom 7th: Eagles 2, Hoosiers 4

Hoosiers go down 1-2-3.

Top 7th: Eagles 2, Hoosiers 4

Ryan Kraft is the new Hoosier pitcher going for the 9-out save. Glasser makes an excellent throw to record the first out. A pair of two out hits give the Eagles an opportunity. Kraft exits the jam with a full count strikeout.

Bottom 6th: Eagles 2, Hoosiers 4

Pyne reaches on an error advancing to scoring position. Tibbitts also gets to first on error but is stranded via a Mathison groundout.

Top 6th: Eagles 2, Hoosiers 4

Riley Langerman is the new Hoosier catcher. Sinnard gets two pop ups and another strikeout for a quick 1-2-3. Closer Ryan Kraft was tossing in the bullpen during that inning.

Bottom 5th: Eagles 2, Hoosiers 4

The third time for the Hoosier order to face Grant Herron. Phillip Glasser slaps a ball to left which should have been a hit but was robbed by a great diving catch. Josh Pyne rips a 3-2 pitch down the left field line for a double to give Taylor an RBI opportunity. Taylor works a full count and draws his third walk of the game. The Eagles have the bullpen up. Brock Tibbitts walks to load the bases. Mathison works a full count walk to ties the game and Herron’s day comes to an end with a pitching change.

Luke Helton is the new Eagle pitcher. Ellis works another walk to give Indiana the lead. Cerny hits a shallow fly, not advancing the runner. Whalen walks in another run. Hunter Jessee pinch hits for Serruto and fouls out to end the inning.

Top 5th: Eagles 2, Hoosiers 1

A single is erased by a Mathison throw and an amazing tag by Tyler Cerny at second. Luke Sinnard adds two more strikeouts to get up to a dozen.

Bottom 4th: Eagles 2, Hoosiers 1

Tyler Cerny gets a two out single and advances to second on a passed ball. Whalen works the count full and draws a walk. Morehead State’s Grant Herron also get’s a full count on Peter Serruto and ends the inning with a looking strikeout. Herron is now at 78 pitches. The Hoosiers will need to find an answer or get to the bullpen.

Top 4th: Eagles 2, Hoosiers 1

Sinnard is still having his way with most Eagle hitters. Another 1-2-3 inning with two more strikeouts, bringing him to 10 in just four innings.

Bottom 3rd: Eagles 2, Hoosiers 1

Devin Taylor draws another two-out walk but this time he is stranded.

Top 3rd: Eagles 2, Hoosiers 1

Eagle Carter Owens hammers his first collegiate at-bat with a go-ahead two-run bomb. Sinnard up to 8 strikeouts.

Bottom 2nd: Eagles 0, Hoosiers 1

Tyler Cerny ripped a double down the left field line after Matthew Ellis just missed a home run to center. Peter Serruto looks at strike three to strand Cerny in scoring position.

Top 2nd: Eagles 0, Hoosiers 1

Three more batters; three more strikeouts for Luke Sinnard.

Bottom 1st: Eagles 0, Hoosiers 1

Devin Taylor drew a two-out walk and Brock Tibbitts drove him in with a triple to the gap.

Top 1st: Eagles 0, Hoosiers 0

Luke Sinnard was sitting 92 mph on his fastball, touching 93. It took 20 pitches but he struck out all three that he faced for a 1-2-3 inning.
