Bottom 9th: Indiana 16, Illinois 3 (FINAL)

Foley sandwiches a strikeout between a couple of walks. Jeff Mercer is making a pitching change. Ethan Phillips is the new pitcher. Five pitches is all it took. Double play and the Hoosiers take the series!

Top 9th: Indiana 16, Illinois 3

Whalen hits a single and Devin Taylor rips a double for his third hit of the day. Whalen scores on a wild pitch. Carter Mathison drives in Taylor with a single.

Bottom 8th: Indiana 14, Illinois 3

Connor Foley is the new pitcher. He goes 1-2-3 with two strikeouts.

Top 8th: Indiana 14, Illinois 3

Tyler Cerny gets his fourth hit of the day, but the Hoosiers have nothing else going.

Bottom 7th: Indiana 14, Illinois 3

Ben Seiler is the new Hoosier pitcher. He gives a up solo shot to his first batter. He then works around a single but induces soft contact to limit the damage.

Top 7th: Indiana 14, Illinois 2

Hoosiers go down 1-2-3.

Bottom 6th: Indiana 14, Illinois 2

A run scores on double play, and Brooks Ey now qualifies for a quality start.

Top 6th: Indiana 14, Illinois 1

Tyler Cerny’s slump is officially over. He rips a rocket shot over the left field fence for a solo home run.

Bottom 5th: Indiana 13, Illinois 1

Brooks Ey is still cruising and is now in line for the victory.

Top 5th: Indiana 13, Illinois 1

Hunter Jessee draws a 1-out walk. Serruto rips an RBI double to the left center field wall and Cerny moves him over to third with a single to left. Glasser clears the bases with a three-run bomb over the left field fence.

After the home-run, the Hoosiers load the bases again with one out, forcing another Illinois pitching change. An error and a single extend the lead the 12.

Bottom 4th: Indiana 6, Illinois 1

Ey keeps rolling, working around a lead-off single to keep the lead at five. Ey now his longest out of the season.

Top 4th: Indiana 6, Illinois 1

Phillip Glasser hits a one-out double and Bobby Whalen drives him with a single up the middle. Wenninger’s day is done.

Bottom 3rd: Indiana 5, Illinois 1

Brandon Comia leads off the Illinois third inning with a double for the first hit off of Ey. On a 3-1 pitch, Brody Harding rips a single to right field putting runners on the corners with no outs. Comia scores from third on a 6-4-3 double play. Ey ends the inning with a strikeout.

Top 3rd: Indiana 5, Illinois 0

Peter Serruto leads off with a walk. Tyler Cerny breaks his slump and gets the first hit of the game. Glasser loads the bases with a station-to-staition single to center. DEVIN TAYLOR GRAND SLAM!!!!

Brock Tibbitts is hit in the hand by a pitch. It was originally ruled a foul ball. Tibbitts presented the bruise that it caused and it was overturned. Carter Mathison hits a single to left field. Josh Pyne rips an RBI single to left.

Bottom 2nd: Indiana 0, Illinois

Ey is getting all soft contact. Another 1-2-3 inning!

Top 2nd: Indiana 0, Illinois 0

Nothing going for the Hoosiers in the second.

Bottom 1st: Indiana 0, Illinois

Brooks Ey goes 1-2-3, with a great scoop and tag by Brock Tibbitts for the final out.

Top 1st: Indiana 0, Illinois 0

Devin Taylor works a full count, two-out walk from Illinois starter Jack Wenninger but is stranded via a groundout.
