Brown robs Pyne of extra bases at the wall. Mathison walks getting Jessee into scoring position prompting a Texas mound visit. Bobby Whalen draws a walk to load the bases with one out and Texas will make another pitching change. David Shaw is the new Longhorn pitcher. Bottom 5th: Indiana 1, Texas 5
Ryan Kraft is the new pitcher and gets into an immediate jam. A walk and a hesitation on playing a bunt puts two runners on with no outs. Another walk loads them up prompting a mound visit from pitching coach Dustin Glant. Then the wheels come off of the infield defense and the Hoosiers are in a three-run hole. An error by Evan Goforth scores another Longhorn. A ground out finally ends a disaster of an inning when Texas scores four without hitting ball out of the infield. Defense is the entire difference in this game so far. Very hard game for the Hoosiers to swallow at this point.

Three strikeouts and a hit batsmen mean nothing doing for the Hoosiers in the second.
Bottom 1st: Indiana 0, Texas 1
Carter Mathison drops a routine fly ball off the bat of Eric Kennedy in right field to spot the Longhorns a no out runner on third. Manase (likely pitching for a strikeout instead of contact) walks Dylan Campbell on a full count. Porter Brown hits a sacrifice fly to score Kennedy (unearned), but Jessee doubles up Campbell who tried to take second likely thinking the Hoosiers would try to stop the run. With no runners and two outs, Manase walks Garret Guillemette. A ground out ends the inning.
Top 1st: Indiana 0, Texas 0
Phillip Glasser works a full count lead-off walk to start the game. Hunter Jessee grounds a 3-1 pitch to short for a double play. That’s the third double play the Hoosiers have hit into in the series. Josh Pyne grounds out as well.
Starting Lineup
With the power bats in a bit of a slump, Freshman Devin Taylor gets the start. Ellis is catching again today. His receiving, framing, and throwing are all much improved over his performance behind the plate in 2022. Seti Manase will start on the mound after two 1-2-3 innings last week on Sunday and Tuesday.
