Hogan Denny: 1st team All-B1G outfielder

Hogan Denny

Indiana Baseball corner (both) outfielder, catcher, and recently third baseman Hogan Denny was recognized by the Big Ten as a first-team outfielder on the All-Conference team. Denny hit .357 with a 1.099 OPS, belting 14 homers and scoring 63 runs on the season while also swiping 6 bases.

After the series against Illinois, head coach Jeff Mercer said of Denny, “I think when you have players over the course of your career, your good players, you always assume they can do anything. And for 9 out of 10 players, that’s not the case. But every now and then, you get one. Maybe once a decade that really can do it all, it can do everything. And I think Hogan’s that guy.”

Jake Hanley: 2nd team All-B1G at-large

Jake Hanley

Sophomore first baseman Jake Hanley repeats on the 2nd-team as an at-large selection. Hanley hit .338 with a 1.053 OPS matching Denny for the team lead with 14 bombs, and lead the team with 48 RBIs. Hanley has started every game for Indiana in his first two seasons with the program.

Hanley overcame a slow start to the season to put together a total season that rivaled his B1G Freshman of the Year campaign a year ago. Hanley came into 2026 with a target on his back, and made the adjustments he needed to make to become one of the most dangerous bats in the conference. Hanley’s conference numbers were better than the overall season, hitting .359 with a 1.109 OPS, and 9 of his homers were hit in conference play.

Tony Neubeck: 3rd team All-B1G & Indiana’s B1G Sportsmanship award honoree

Tony Neubeck

Missouri grad transfer Tony Neubeck became the fourth straight Hoosier to be named an All-B1G starting pitcher. Neubeck was selected to the third team. Neubeck had a very impressive seven quality starts among his ten starts in conference play. He started a game in all 14 weekend series with a 7-4 record, a 1.34 WHIP, and 3.95 ERA. Neubeck had a multi-pitch mix that allowed him to battle even on days when a key pitch wasn’t working well. Indiana also recognized Neubeck as the team’s sportmanship award winner.

After Neubeck’s final start and win on Thursday, Mercer said, “He’s just been, like you said, he’s been six or seven innings of just great baseball. He’s kept us in every game, given us the lead, and we’ve been able to have a chance to win every time he’s walked on the field, essentially.

“He’s such a calming presence. He’s competitive in moments when those guys on base, he execute pitches, and he’s really diversified. His pitch repertoire over the course of the year as well as being extended out. You just could not have asked for a better Friday guy. As good as we’ve had in my time here, you go back to [Pauly] Milto and some of those different guys that every Friday you’re going to get five to seven really quality innings. Tommy Summer and a bunch of those guys, we just knew what you were going to get every week out. He’s just been tremendous. You couldn’t be a better person. You just couldn’t be a better teammate, couldn’t be a harder worker, more prepared.

“You know, I’m just really very, very thankful he’s here and have just been a, it’s been a real honor to watch him work and watch him compete all season.”
