Weather impacted many games around the Country. These results were not too enlightening. Total opponent W-L results split and RPI model data has #iubase in NCAA Tourney as a 3-seed (but its still VERY early).
#18 East Carolina at Maryland. Maryland got swept by #18 East Carolina at home. The Terps were shut out in games 1 and 3, and scored 1 run in game 2. That means the Terps scored only 1 run the entire weekend.
Cal State Northridge at Iowa. Iowa had to cancel one of these games. CSUN won the first game and Iowa is up 1-0 in third inning of game 2 as of the writing of this article.
Nebraska vs New Mexico State. Series was cancelled.
Minnesota at Long Beach State. These teams split the opening games, and Minnesota looks to be in a pretty good position to win the rubber match with 10-4 lead in the eighth, but the Gopher bullpen is their weak spot, so this is still up in the air.
The Citadel at Indiana State. The Sycamores improve to 16-1 sweeping the Citadel. Next, up a midweek clash with the Indiana Hoosiers. Can anyone chop these trees down?
