Bottom 7th: Indiana 14, Penn State 11

Ball gets a groundout to start the inning. Jessee lost a fly ball to left in the sun putting a runner on second. Ball hits the next batter and Whalen makes a solid catch in center for out number two. A gap shot to left center plates two Nittany Lions. A single plates another run and the throw home from Jessee allows the batter to reach second.

After a walk Mercer is forced to go to Ethan Phillips. A single off Phillips plates one and a Phillips wild pitch plates one more. The inning continues after a fielding error by Tibbitts. Phillips hits the next batter loading the bases and bringing the go ahead run to the plate.

Wes Burton is brought in and gets a strikeout to end the 5-run inning.

Devin Taylor smokes a ball over the right center field for a solo home run.

Bottom 6th: Indiana 13, Penn State 6

Lefty Nathan Ball is the new Hoosier pitcher. After a one-out hit-by-pitch, Tyler Cerny ⭐ turns a fabulous double play to get the Hoosiers off the field.

Top 6th: Indiana 13, Penn State 6

Hoosiers scored two more and Penn State’s Johnny Piacentino made a great grab in center, but collided with the wall and was down for a couple of minutes.

Bottom 5th: Indiana 11, Penn State 6

Pyne and Tibbitts combine for a great play on a tough ground ball for the first out of the inning. Yoho is still dealing ending the inning with a strikeout on a breaking pitch.

Top 5th: Indiana 11, Penn State 6

Tyler Cerny fouls off a bunch of pitches and then crushes a hanging curveball over the left field fence to give Indiana a three run lead. After a pitching change Glasser gets on via an error. The Hoosiers make the most with a single by Whalen and Taylor scoring both with a double to the right center gap.

Bottom 4th: Indiana 6, Penn State 6

Craig Yoho dominates in a shut down inning 1-2-3.

Bottom 3rd: Indiana 4, Penn State 6

Luke Hayden surrenders a single and leaves a fastball up that is hammered over the left field fence. Gabe Levy is called in from the bullpen to take over on the mound. Gabe Levy’s third pitch is elevated to right and carries in the wind for a solo shot. Three more hits tie the game and have two in scoring position with no outs. Levy was fooling no one. Indiana goes to Craig Yoho to try and stop the bleeding. Yoho induces a ground ball to Pyne who holds the runner at third and throws out the batter for the first out. A walk and a single plate Levy’s runners and give Penn State a two-run lead. Yoho keeps the damage there but the Hoosiers are in a tough spot with a bunch of pitchers already used and the bats struggling on the weekend.

Brock Tibbitts is still hot as he leads the inning off with a double. Tyler Cerny hits a ground ball through the hole up the middle to score Tibbitts.

Bottom 1st: Indiana 0, Penn State 0

Luke Hayden worked around a walk to keep Penn State off the board.

Top 1st: Indiana 0, Penn State 0

Glasser works a full count and then grounds out to start the game. Bobby Whalen grounds out. Devin Taylor works a full count and is rung up on a very questionable call.

Luke Hayden is the starting pitcher. Serruto still catching. Penn State opener is a lefty, so Ellis may replace him once they go to the bullpen.
