Hoosiers and Sycamores in Terre Haute for a top-50 RPI midweek clash

Top 9th: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-4 (FINAL)

Josh Pyne gets to first by an error. He’s wiped out by a 4-6-3 double play. Cerny ropes a double to right. Jessee goes down on strikes and the Hoosiers are shut out.

Bottom 8th: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-4

Brayden Risedorph is the new Indiana pitcher. He’s working ahead. A groundout to Tibbitts gets the first out. Risedorph hits a batter on an 0-2 pitch. The runner goes on a dropped pitch and Serruto throws him out at second. Ridesdorph strikes out the next batter to face the minimum.

Top 8th: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-4

Taylor is robbed of a single with two on and then Tibbitts is robbed of a home run. 🌳Defense brings what should have been a big Hoosier inning to a quick end. Hoosiers three outs away from getting shut out.

Bottom 7th: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-4

Evan Whiteaker gives up a solo shot. He induces a groundout. A walk adds a base runner and a single puts one in scoring position. Jeff Mercer elects to go to Ben Seiler who gets ahead but surrenders an RBI single. Seiler gets two quick outs to keep the lead at four.

Top 7th: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-2

A great play in center robs Cerny of a hit. Two more quick outs and the Hoosier bats have really gone quiet.

Bottom 6th: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-2

Connor Foley walks two and balks them into scoring position. One comes around to score on an infield single. After dropping the ball another runner tries to score and Cerny throws him out at home.

Top 6th: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-1

A Tibbitt’s double is wasted.

Bottom 5th: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-1

Brooks Ey just mowed down the 4-5-6 🌳hitters for three quick strikeouts.

Top 5th: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-1

Glasser walks and is erased with a 4-6-3 double play.

Bottom 4th: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-1

Brooks Eye is the new pitcher. He’s pitching ahead, getting a groundout and a strikeout before giving up a double to right field. Cerny fields a chopper to end the inning with no damage.

Top 4th: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-1

Carter Mathison loves hitting Sycamore pitching. He pulls his second single of the day on the ground into right field. Mathison gets to second on wild pitch with one out. Jessee strikes out and Mathison is caught trying to steal third.

Bottom 3rd: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-1

A solo shot rocket over the left field fence to lead off the inning has the Sycamores striking first. Next batter hits a double just inside the right field line. Taylor reels in a short fly out in right. Katskee uses some high heat to get a strikeout. Several hard breakers lead to another strikeout to end the inning with just the one run scored.

Top 3rd: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-0

Brock Tibbitts rips a pitch off of the thigh of the pitcher for a two-out single, but is stranded when Josh Pyne strikes out on a check swing.

Bottom 2nd: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-0

Sycamores attack early with a lead-off double to the right center field wall. Hunter Jessee ⭐ makes a great grab in deep left, but the runner advances to third with only one out. A wild pitch bounces off the backstop right back to Serruto who throws to Pyne and then back to Serruto to get the runner, although the runner on first gets to third, but there are two outs. Bothwell hits the next batter on the leg to put runners on the corners. Bothwell loads the bases with a 3-1 walk. Jeff Mercer calls Cooper Katskee in get out of the jam. A 2-0 pitch induces a flyout to right and the bases are left juiced again.

Top 2nd: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-0

Carter Mathison gets a lead off single. With one out Hunter Jessee is hit by a pitch and the Sycamores make a pitching change. A fly out to center advances Mathison to third with two outs. Both runners are stranded with a weak groundout.

Bottom: 1st: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-0

Ty Bothwell takes the mound. A four pitch walk starts the half inning. After getting ahead 1-2 the next batter works the count full and strikes out chasing a pitch out of the zone. The next pitch hits a batter to put a runner in scoring position. A four pitch walk loads the bases. A dribbler back to Bothwell gets the runner at the plate. Bothwell gets out of it with fly out to center.

Top 1st: ⚪🔴-0, 🔵🌳-0

Glasser works a full count walk, Devin Taylor hits a breaking ball into right for a single. Both are stranded.
