Hoosier Baseball Post-Season Resume Update – May 19th

by Carl James • @jovian34 • May 19th

The Hoosiers are Big Ten Champions, and although its only the B1G Tourney that awards an automatic bid, the regular season title essentially locks-up a 2-seed in an NCAA Regional.

  • RPI: 30th
  • Record: 36-19
  • B1G: 17-7 (first place – final standings)
  • Home: 21-5
  • Road: 11-12
  • Neutral: 4-2
  • Non-conf SOS: 22nd
Record against RPI-Tiers:
  • Top-50: 5-9
  • 51-100: 12-5
  • 101-150: 6-3
  • 151-299: 13-2

The RPI of 30th along with the 5-9 top-50 record is likely too much of a burden to overcome to get seeded in the top-16 and be awarded a host site. Indiana’s performance in the Big Ten Tournament will likely have no impact on how it is seeded on Selection Monday.
