Perfect Game released their Preseason Top 25 today and Hoosier Baseball Rolls in at # 17.
There will be plenty of other publications with rankings coming out shortly, but it appears the element of surprise won’t be an ally for the Hoosiers this season, which is how it should be. With so many bats and arms returning from the #2 seed of The Lexington Regional last season means expectations will be high in BTown for 2018 .
With around 6 weeks until Opening Day , here are 6 things we can look forward to in 2018
1 – The Bats
Luke Miller , Logan Sowers , Ryan Fineman , Matt Lloyd , Matt Gorski and maybe even some new faces should provide plenty of power
2 – The Gloves
Jeremy Houston , Ryan Fineman , Logan Kaletha , Lauren Eustace and other’s should continue the stellar defense that all Coach Lemonis teams have been showing off since he arrived
3- The Arms
A full rotation of Stiever , Milto and Krueger coming back plus a now more experienced bullpen should be fun to watch
4 – The Opening Weekend
A chance to come right out of the gate against Oklahoma , South Alabama and Coastal Carolina . All teams planning to make the NCAA Tournament as well should be quite the start to 2018
5 – The New Guys
Every Freshman class Coach Lemonis and Coach Cheesebrough have brought in have been impressive and this one seems no different . No official roster yet but expectations are high.
6 – The B1G Ten Schedule
We get to go to Minnesota to get some payback from last May , Purdue comes to BTown , (I’d say we owe them to) , a Road weekend in Lincoln will be some atmosphere and of course a rematch at The Bart with those patriotic Terrapins . Should be a wild ride .
