With last week’s midweek vs Northern Kentucky cancelled, the Hoosiers were focused on opening B1G play at home against a struggling Washington team. Friday was a typical Friday in college baseball. Both starting pitchers shoved and IU’s bullpen held on for a 4-2 victory.

For the rest of the weekend IU struggled at the plate losing 9-2 on Saturday, and stranding 12, losing 13-4 in the rubber match on Sunday. Usual Sunday starter Jackson Bergman was skipped this week while recovering from illness. The Hoosiers did have the tying run on base in the 8th inning before hitting into one of a pair of bases-loaded, inning-ending double plays on the day.
