Almost four years to the day of his hiring of Coach Lemonis, Fred Glass has now hired Jeff Mercer as the new Head Coach of Hoosier Baseball.
Jeff Mercer is 32 years old, an Indiana native, and now the former head coach of Wright State. He led his team to the NCAA Tournament this past season with a 39-17 record and was Nationally Ranked in 2017. His father was a former hitting coach and recruiting coordinator for Indiana.
Jay Morrison recently talked to Mercer about his Championship season and having three players get selected in the past MLB Draft for the Dayton News
I’m sure they’ll be more details to come about who will fill out the staff and further details of the contract.
