Five to Watch in Week 5

The Hoosiers are home this weekend, but there are other series of interest in College Baseball.

#18 East Carolina at Maryland. The Terps are 10-5 against a weak schedule. Now we get to see if they are for real against a top-20 team before B1G play gets underway.

Cal State Northridge at Iowa. Iowa is hurting and has been somewhat of an enigma this year. This will be the last non-con weekend before the Hawkeyes return to Bloomington for the first time since winning the 2017 B1G Tournament title at Bart Kaufman field. Northridge is 8-9 on the year so far.

Nebraska vs New Mexico State. Nebraska is coming off winning a series against a top-25 team on the road. Can the Cornhuskers keep this up? New Mexico State is 14-4 on the year. This will be a good test.

Minnesota at Long Beach State. This is a battle of teams that are both having ugly years. Something has to give. Could this be the series where Minnesota breaks through and starts to realize their potential?

The Citadel at Indiana State. The Sycamores are 13-1 on the season. While it has been a light season Indiana State has been dominant at 13-1 and has swept every weekend series. Given the rise of the Missouri Valley in baseball, you can’t discount the possibility of an NCAA Regional being played in Terre Haute come June. It’s not likely, but it’s not impossible now either.
