Hoosiers now a 2-seed in this model after wining the Michigan series and dropping midweek to Louisville.

Bracket predictions are all over the place now on just about any site that covers national Division I College baseball. This field is different. I am not “projecting” with this bracket. This is if the committee had to put the field together today. This is generated by a computer program that I wrote to rank the teams and take multiple factors like geography into account when assigning teams to regionals. This is results-based, using an approximation of techniques to try an match the priorities the NCAA committee showed in the 2018 tournament selection.

I am also including last four/first fours and the 1-64 ranking although regional distribution is largely on physical school location. Indiana is #31 in this. A drop to #33 takes the Hoosiers back to a 3-seed. This would likely happen with not sweeping the Rutgers series. Winning the B1G title would provide a nice boost to this ranking making the Hoosiers a solid 2-seed. Keep an eye on Indiana State. If the Sycamores climb just 1 rank, they enter in as a 2-seed as well providing competition for which Indiana school gets the close regional.
