It happened about three hours and 2300 miles apart. The Bash Brothers finally went deep on the same night in The Show.
The last time Kyle Schwarber and Sam Travis homered on the same night as Hoosiers was May 30, 2014. It was a steamy hot night at The Bart with temporary bleachers getting the attendance to over 4100.

Travis was first that May ‘14 night with a third inning 2 run shot driving in Schwarber. And just like in 2014, last night, Travis was first with a third inning blast in Tampa for the Red Sox.

Kyle Schwarber only needed 3 innings and about an hour to join Travis in the long ball column at The Bart in 2014.

Last night he waited about three hours to hit his third inning solo bomb for the Cubs out in San Francisco.

Turns out ‘The Bash Brothers’ didn’t really even know why Skip was calling them thatat the time. They were so young they thought it was something from The Mighty Ducks not the reference to the Canseco and McGwire tag team of the 80’s. Either way, as Bloomington’s Bash Brothers for 3 seasons they combined for 71 home runs. They were both day one MLB Draft picks. They both have World Series rings. And they are the only two players to ever homer at The Bart and in The Show. But thanks to the tradition they helped build at Hoosier Baseball I’m sure they won’t be the last.
